Balboa Trailblazer Boy Scout Day Camp

June 24-27, 2014 

Camp runs from 8 am - 4 pm with an optional overnighter on Friday

This camp is ONLY for NEW Boy Scouts who have not achieved the rank of First Class and LDS 11 year old Scouts.

     Costs:

  • $175 per In- Council Scout ($180 for Out of Council Scouts) 
  • $50 optional overnighter including Dinner and Breakfast on Friday for parent and scout (parent must attend with youth-no family camp)
  • $9 Friday night dinner ONLY (price per person)

Trailblazer Summer Day Camp at Camp Balboa and Fiesta Island  is exactly where you want to be for an exciting week of swimming, boating, archery, pellet guns, games and more!  This camp is ONLY for NEW Boy Scouts who have not achieved the rank of First Class and LDS 11 year old Scouts.

Camp is located at Camp Balboa on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; Wednesday is at Camp Fiesta Island (specific days at which camp are subject to change).  This camp has been specifically designed to meet the needs of new Boy Scouts.  Every activity planned for the week is meant to give him a great introduction to the Boy Scout Camping Program and also a head start towards advancement.  All of the Program Activities are focused on the "Trail to First Class".  A record of all Rank achievements earned will be sent home after the close of camp for him to give to his Scout Leader to sign off in his book.

An optional family dinner on Friday night (for $9 per person) and an optional overnighter including Dinner and Breakfast (for scout and parent for $50) are available.  Please check the appropriate boxes during registration.

A FIREARM PERMISSION SLIP (for those boys wanting to shoot) and a PART A & B of the BSA HEALTH FORM are REQUIRED to attend camp.  Please mail them to the Council Office at BSA, 1207 Upas Street, San Diego, CA  92103 Attn:  Balboa Trailblazer Camp at LEAST 2 weeks prior to camp.

 Payment Options

  • Send a check payment to SDIC-BSA, 1207 Upas St, San Diego, CA  92103.  No convenience fee will apply.  Please reference your Doubleknot registration number on your check.  Please click on the Mail/Offline option when completing your registration.  You must still SAVE your registration to be accepted.
  • Pay via credit card at the Council Service Center or by phone at 619-298-6121 x230 during regular business hours.  No convenience fee will apply.  Please have your Doubleknot confirmation number available.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing by May 23, 2014 Requests for refunds after May 23, 2014 will be at the discretion of the Camp Director. Please submit all requests for cancellations and refunds to Balboa Trailblazer Camp at sdiccamp@scouting.org or mail in your request to Balboa Trailblazer Camp SDIC-BSA, 1207 Upas Street, San Diego, CA. Please allow 2-3 weeks after camp dates for processing of your refund.
