Counselor Training Program

A unique opportunity for Scouts 14 & 15 years old to:  Learn New Leadership Skills, Enjoy Summer Camp, Make New Friends, Have FUN, Earn Merit Badges or Venturing Ranger Requirements!!!

Participants will participate in a 3-week specialized program which will involve a half day of work experience with a half day of summer camp experience, all under the guidance of a dedicated Counselor Training Director!

 

Camp Fiesta Island (CFI)

Session 1:  June 14 - July 4, 2015

Session 2:  July 5 - July 25, 2015

Session 3: July 19 - August 8, 2015

fee: $410 in council/ $435 out of council

Registration is limited each session.  All participants will receive 2 t-shirts, a hooded sweatshirt, all meals and full lodging! Participants may only attend one session per summer camp facility.

Graduates of an approved National Youth Leadership Training course, who complete the three-week Counselor Training Program, may be eligible to receive a refund of up to 50% of their NYLT course fee (not to exceed $130).  Details on refund available after successful completion of Counselor Training Program.

Applicants must have a non-family member Unit Leader complete recommendation form to participate in the program.  Recommendation is in a survey format. The link to recommendation form can be found on our council website www.sdicbsa.org under the CAMPING tab, select SUMMER PROGRAMS and then Boy Scout Summer Camp at CFI. 

It is up to the applicant to request the recommendation from the Unit Leader.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing 30 prior to camp attendance, session 1 by May 14, 2015; session 2 by June 5, 2015: session 3 by June 19, 2015. Requests for refunds less than 30 days will be at the discretion of the Camping Director.
