Are you interested in being a Leave No Trace Trainer? Want to learn about the Outdoor Ethics Program? Come join us for a Saturday and Sunday at Camp Fiesta Island and become a certified trainer (attendance at the weekend dates are mandatory for certification). You will demonstrate the principles and ethics of Leave No Trace as well as the responsibilities of being one of the council's trainers. You will be able to practice the LNT principles and ethics while enjoying the outdoor setting at Camp Fiesta Island.
This is an opportunity to hear all the latest information and requirements in order to effectively work with adult volunteers and scouts in the Outdoor Ethics Program. You will review the responsibilities of the Tread Lightly! Trainer as well as receive tips to ensure that Scouts and volunteers are trained properly. In addition, it will give you a chance to network with other trainers and share your experiences and knowledge.
We ask for you to give back to our Council by promoting the message of Leave No Trace in two or three educational settings each year. Adults can lead LNT Awareness conversations or facilitate a BSA LNT 101 training. Join the Outdoor Ethics Team to learn more!
PREREQUISITES: Complete BOTH Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace online-awareness courses. Print certificates and bring to training.
