High Adventure Leader Trek Training (HALTT)
This 40-hour course prepares unit leaders for basic backpacking trips and wilderness camping trips. Topics include leadership, trek planning, equipment, food, health and safety, map and compass. Leaders completing sessions I, II, and III receive a patch and numbered card.
Units planning to earn High Adventure Awards must have a trained adult with a current card accompanying the trip.

HALTT Session II Saturday session covers:
Preparation, equipment, and leadership for High Adventure outings
Health, Safety, and Mountain Miseries
Food: planning, purchasing, packaging, and preparation
Trekking: peaks to deserts, awards, and permits
Trail: Finding, keeping, communications, customs, courtesies, and conservation
Sign up for Session I and Session III.

- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be registered with Scouting America (as an adult) including SYT
- Current Scouting America Medical Form
