San Diego-Imperial Council presents

Small Boat Sailing Merit Badge

Saturday & Sunday, August 29 & 30, 10:00 am- 4:00 pm each day

Designed for ages 11-17

Scouts will have the opportunity to earn the Small Boat Sailing Merit Badge.

Youth Aquatic Center (1750 Fiesta Island Road) 

Cost: $100 for youth

Lunch is NOT included. You should bring a sack lunch and a water bottle

Check-in opens at 9:45 am 

Youth must pre-register. NO WALK-INS.

Per the merit badge requirements Scouts are required to pass the BSA swim test before attempting any other requirements. Swim test can be done before your arrival to this event. This can be done the following ways. 

  1. 1. Have a signed and filled out Scouting America Swim Classification Record Form. 

  1. 2. Have completed the Swimming and Lifesaving Merit Badge within the last year. 

  1. 3. Have completed kayaking, canoeing, and or rowing merit badge at summer camp in 2025.

Parent/Guardian: Be prepared to stay while your Scout takes the swim test. If they cannot pass the swim test, they will not be allowed to stay.

All attending Scouts must bring a Merit Badge application (blue card) with them, signed by their Unit Leader. Blue cards shall not be issued at the event.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing 2 weeks before the event. Requests for refunds after 2 weeks will be at the discretion of the Staff Partner and only for extreme, extenuating circumstances.

Please allow 2-3 weeks after camp dates for processing of your refund if applicable.
