Wood Badge 3-49-26

April 17-19, 2026, and May 2-3, 2026

 

Wood Badge is a challenging and rewarding experience that helps adult leaders become more effective in their roles in scouting and beyond.   It is an investment in your own leadership development and in the future of the Youth you serve.   Enroll in the Wood Badge Course for Spring of 2026!
Wood Badge Course #3-49-26 will be held April 17-19, 2026, and May 2-3 , 2026 at Mataguay Scout Ranch.  Both weekends are mandatory for the completion of the course.  Scout leaders must have a current BSA registration, have completed basic scout leader training (and in some cases outdoor training) to qualify for the course
The course fee covers the cost for food, presentation materials, Wood Badge participant ball cap, and 1 activity t-shirt (additional shirts are available on a pre-order basis for $20 each (3XL-$22, 4XL-$25).

A participant orientation meeting will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Camp Balboa in Atherton Hall.  There is a required Pre-Course Orientation Course online @ Training.scouting.org that will answer many questions about Wood Badge and its value.  https://training.scouting.org/courses/SCO_12017  
A current and complete BSA medical form (including parts A, B, and C, is required for attendance.  It should be submitted on Wednesday, March 18 at the Participant Orientation Meeting.  Medical forms are available online through the council website, https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_ABC.pdf

Course Cost: $360.00

  • 1st Payment: A $50 down payment is required at the time of registration to hold your spot for the course.  The following payment options are available:
  • 2nd Payment: $150 by February 6, 2026.
  • Final Payment: All final monies are due by March 15, 2026.

You are welcome to pay all of your fees in full at the time of registration.

  • Pay online during the registration process via Credit Card.
  • Send check payment to SDIC-BSA, 1207 Upas St, San Diego, CA  92103. Reference your registration number on your check.  Click on the Mail/Offline option when completing your registration.
  • Pay via credit card at the Council Service Center or by phone at 619-298-6121 during regular business hours.  No convenience fee will apply.  Have your confirmation number available.  Click on the Mail/Offline option when completing your registration.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to receive a refund. THE $50 DEPOSIT IS NON REFUNDABLE. Please submit all requests for a refund to TRAINING at SDIC-BSA, 1207 Upas Street, San Diego, CA 92103, or via email at sdiccamp@scouting.org. A refund will be given if the written request is received 60 days prior to the course start. Refunds less than 60 days must be due to extreme circumstances.
