DESCRIPTION:Unit Backpacking Training \n  \n Description (Scroll to bottom of page for REGISTER button) \n  \n UNIT BACKPACK TRAINING for Troop, Crews, &amp; Ships (This training is NOT for Cub Scouts age or Packs) is a weekend training program designed for youth so they can learn basic backpacking and trail camping under their own adult leadership. Unit equipment and backpacks may by provided by the Council. This program is especially applicable to those units with little or no experience or equipment. The Mataguay Scout Ranch (MSR) &quot;T&quot; Patch will be awarded to all participants, youth and adult, who successfully complete this training. \n  \n  \n This weekend Backpack Training starts at 8:00 Saturday morning. Backpacks, light weight mountain cook kits, propane fuel stoves and tube tents are issued at this time. A six-mile loop trail is backpack-hiked, ending at a trail camp in MSR. High Sierra Trek - experienced instructors from the High Adventure Team (HAT) provide guidance, instruction, and help along the trail and in camp. \n  \n  \n Particulars \n  \n  \n 	 \n 		 \n 			Fee: \n 			$15.00 per participant, pre-registered \n  \n 			Reserve early!
