San Diego Imperial Council and the American Red Cross presents
Wilderness and Remote First Aid
January 18 & 19, 2025 (Time EACH DAY 9 am - 6 pm - must attend both dates)
Camp Balboa, Atherton Hall (1207 Upas St, San Diego 92103)
Cost: $100 (includes all training materials)
Be prepared for your Wilderness or Philmont Treks. Some of the course topics will include:
- When Help is delayed: The Emergency Action Steps
- Emergency Moves and Prioritizing Care
- Making difficult decisions, causes and prevention of injury
- Physical exam and report record transfers and evacuations
- Preventing disease transmission and use of tourniquets
- Preventing infections, head and spinal injuries
- Chest and abdominal injuries, burns and shock
- Hypothermia, major bites and stings
- And MUCH MORE!
Items that will NOT be covered are: survival techniques, CPR training, orienteering or map & compass training
Participants need to be at least 15 years of age, have a current adult CPR card prior to attending and be able to complete strenuous activities (such as bending, lifting, kneeling, etc.)

American Safety and Health Institute
Emergency Care and Safety Institute
Medic First Aid
San Diego Regional Public Safety Training Institute (Community Colleges Classes)
Because of the limited class size, please restrict registrations to only 2 members of a unit or trek (unless class does not fill up)!
THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO REGISTERED SCOUTS (at least 15 years old), PARENTS AND LEADERS ONLY!! MUST HAVE A CURRENT CPR CARD (and present at class).
Each registrant must have their own email address!
